The most serious allegations against the former president of the Supreme Court and caretaker Prime Minister Vasiliki Thanou, which are heard in an audio document that was recently published (iefimerida.gr), caused a double intervention by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court.
The Prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Vassilios Pliotas, instructed a Deputy Prosecutor of the Court to study the audio in order to decide whether the case of Vasiliki Thanou should be removed from the file. The case with the former president of the Supreme Court was filed in record time in 2016, without an in-depth investigation, when, at that time, the businessman and lawyer Andreas Vgenopoulos had publicly reported it for blackmail, in order, according to the complainant, to extort money from him. assists him in his pending court cases.
The archiving, then, was done by the later head of the Authority for money laundering, Anna Zaire.
At the same time, according to the order of Mr. Pliotas, the archiving that had been done for the part that concerned other persons involved in the case, such as a businesswoman who appeared as a friend of the president of the Supreme Court and made the negotiations on her behalf, will be studied. they had things, with Andreas Vgenopoulos himself.
