In the last 48 hours, damage has occurred to underground Medium Voltage cables due to the particularly high loads and high temperatures in Piraeus, Rentis, Kallithea and Petroupoli
DEDDIE, on the occasion of the prolonged heatwave affecting our country, announces that from the first moment all its technical staff are on their feet and fully prepared to deal with all the emergency problems that arise in the electricity distribution network due to the high temperatures .
In particular, for the areas that in the last 48 hours have experienced damage to underground Medium Voltage cables due to particularly high loads and high temperatures, such as for Piraeus, Rentis, Kallithea and Petroupoli, more than 250 DEDDIE technical staff are working around the clock in order to to intervene immediately to repair the damage as quickly as possible.
Today, DEDDIE crews are working to repair damage in the area of Nea Chalkidona and Keratsini, and the re-electrification is expected to be completed soon.
DEDDIE asks for the understanding of all its customers, as the high temperatures that have been observed for several days – and which do not decrease significantly during the evening hours – combined with the high consumption due to the increased use of air conditioners, cause extraordinary damage to the Network . All the company’s technical staff is fully prepared and alert from the first day of the start of the prolonged heatwave in our country.
