Fatal traffic accident It happened at midnight in the urban area of ​​the village of Maleme, when a car collided with a two-wheeler. The co-driver of the two-wheeler, 61 years old, originally from Bulgaria, died in the collision.

The woman died instantly, while the 63-year-old driver of the two-wheeler was seriously injured and is being treated at the General Hospital. The 59-year-old driver of the I.X. was also slightly injured.

The EKAV rescuers who immediately arrived at the scene of the accident, picked up the couple of bicyclists as well as the driver of the I.X and took them to the hospital. The 63-year-old is hospitalized in critical condition. The traffic accident and the causes that led to the collision are being investigated by the Chania Traffic Police.

Also this morning, a 62-year-old man of Albanian origin was injured, in the area of ​​Lentarians, when the driver of a large jeep, having developed speed, lost control of the vehicle, which climbed onto the pavement and dragged the unfortunate 62-year-old away.

As the police authorities reported to APE-MBE, the driver of the vehicle continued without stopping, leaving the injured man. The 62-year-old was transported by EKAV ambulance to the Chania General Hospital where he is being treated for orthopedic injuries.

The 62-year-old was going to pick up his bicycle, which was parked next to the sidewalk, when he was swept away by the vehicle.

The Chania Traffic Department is investigating the accident while the driver of the vehicle is being sought.
