The number of agroforestry fires that occurred in the last twenty-four hours across the country reached 24. Of these, according to the fire department, 16 were dealt with immediately, in their initial stage, while the fire brigade is still dealing with 8.
The fire that broke out in low vegetation, in the afternoon today, in the area of ​​Poisses in Tzia, was brought under partial control. To fully extinguish the fire, seven firefighters with three vehicles from the Keas Volunteer Fire Department, including four firefighters with two vehicles, who traveled by ferry from Lavrio, are working, while four aircraft and a helicopter were deployed for aerial firefighting.
Assistance in the extinguishing project was provided by water carriers of the OTA. It is noted that a warning message via 112 was sent to the residents of the Poisses Keas area, inviting them to remain alert and follow the instructions of the authorities.
