Porsche presents the new versions of the first purely electric SUV. While the rear-wheel drive Macan mainly focuses on high efficiency and autonomy, the new Macan 4S comes to fill the gap between the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo. Like the models introduced in early 2024, the 4S is equipped with electronically controlled Porsche Traction Management (ePTM), which distributes drive power between the front and rear axles approximately five times faster than a conventional four-wheel drive system.

The new entry-level Macan model in the world of pure electric SUVs from Porsche also draws its energy from a high-voltage battery with a capacity of 100 kWh. Performance is provided exclusively by the rear axle engine used in the Macan 4, with a diameter of 210 mm, effective length of 200 mm and an output of 340 hp (250 kW). The motor features a 480A pulse inverter (PWR), which uses the highly efficient semiconductor material Silicon Carbide (SiC) to ensure greater efficiency. This material significantly reduces the switching losses in the PWR inverter and allows higher switching frequencies. Combined with the Launch Control system, the Macan produces up to 360 hp (265 kW), while its maximum torque reaches 563 Nm. When accelerating from a standstill, the Macan reaches 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and its top speed reaches 220 km/h. As it no longer has four-wheel drive, the Macan is 110 kg lighter than the Macan 4 and therefore requires less electricity. This results in a combined WLTP range of 641 km.

The Macan 4S has a new motor on the rear axle and a powerful SiC 600 A pulse inverter. The electric motor has a diameter of 230 mm and an active length of 150 mm. Together with the front-axle motor also used in the Macan 4 and Turbo, this results in a system output of 448 hp (330 kW) with a short-term overboost reaching 516 hp (380 kW). With the Launch Control system, the maximum torque reaches 820 Nm. The performance values are correspondingly impressive: with the Launch Control system, the Macan 4S completes standard acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, while its top speed reaches 240 km/h. It has a combined range according to WLTP that reaches 606 kilometers. The Macan 4S has the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) electronic damping control system as standard equipment. Adaptive air suspension with camber and height adjustment, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and four-way steering allow the chassis to be further optimized for increased performance and comfort.

The two new models feature all the advantages of the second generation Macan, including the progressive, timeless design with aerodynamically optimized aerodynamic characteristics (cw = 0.25). The 800 V architecture of the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) enables a DC charging capacity of up to 270 kW. The high-voltage battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 21 minutes, at a suitable fast charging station.
