The guilt of the two brothers sitting on the bench of the Joint Assize Court as its perpetrators murder of the journalist Giorgos Karaivaz asked the district attorney.

The public prosecutor emphasized to the court that cold execution of the journalist is related to his professional activity.

Accepting the reports of the case file, the prosecutor pointed out that the murder was connected to the revelations about the organized crime that Giorgos Karaivaz seemed to intend to commit.

“It is not a simple homicide, but it is in the context of organized crime. Karaivaz was a police reporter. From a long time ago he had information about how organized crime works and several criminal organizations. From his latest articles, it seems that he intended to make revelations and maybe that is where we find the motive for the murder, because there is nothing else,” said the prosecutor.

According to the prosecutor’s proposal, the one who hit the journalist with multiple shots was the 41-year-old accused, younger, while his eight years older brother was his immediate accomplice.

The process continues with the purchase of advocates.

During their testimony in court, the two defendants had denied any involvement in the execution of Karaivaz.

The two brothers, who are accused of carrying out a “contract” were the perpetrators of the cold-blooded murder of the journalist in April 2021 outside his house in Alimos, repeated in court the position that from the beginning of their arrest (before a time) they project, denying that they are the natural perpetrators of the journalist’s murder.
