In Evia, the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection – A firefighter was slightly injured

The new message via 112 asks them to move towards Zarakes. According to information from the Fire Department, the new message was issued around 20:15 as several residents returned to the village of Koskina.
In particular, the message states: “If you are in the Koskina area, drive away towards Zarakes via the Karystou provincial road”.
It is noted that a message was issued for the same settlement at 15:46.

As pointed out by evima.gr, people are leaving their homes at the behest of the police and fire department.
According to the transmission of the local media, the flames are a breath away from the houses, both in the village of Krieza and in Koskina.
According to information, during the operations of the Fire Department, a firefighter was injured while trying to put out the fire, he suffered burns and was taken to the Aliveri health center by EKAB ambulance.
Now, 189 firefighters with 9 teams of walking departments and 56 vehicles are working at the scene, as well as a large number of volunteers.
For aerial firefighting, 26 aerial means have been allocated, namely 16 aircraft and 10 helicopters, of which 2 are for their coordination.
Local government water tankers and construction machinery are assisting in the extinguishing work. As a precaution, a fire-fighting boat has been dispatched to the area and the Coast Guard has been mobilized with floating means near the coastline.
Also, ELAS forces have been deployed to facilitate the evacuation of residents.

The Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias, is going to Evia, due to the ongoing fire. The fire broke out at around 15:17 in a wooded area near the Petries settlement and, as was known by the Fire Department, immediately took on dangerous proportions mainly due to the strong northerly winds blowing in the area. At the same time, according to the Fire Department, a Firefighter with a Five-Year Obligation who was working on the fire in Evia was slightly injured. According to information from the Fire Department, he suffered minor burns and was taken to the Aliveri Health Center.
