The Greek motorcade for departure from Mariupol has started

The Greek evacuation operation from the war-torn Mariupol, through the humanitarian corridor that has been opened, as the situation becomes more and more difficult.

At 12 noon, SKAI’s envoy, Stavros Ioannidis, reported that the convoy passed through the first checkpoint.

The convoy includes part of the staff of the Consulate General, all the journalists housed in the premises of the Consulate General, as well as Greek citizens who wish to leave.

The ambassador will intervene in the first car Francis Costalen. On the way to the west, other vehicles will be integrated.

There are specific directions for distances on the way so that no one gets lost in case there is a mechanical problem or fuel problem, as there is a ceiling in the area.

The mission has be provided with a verbal communication which has been sent through the Foreign Ministry to be displayed at all checkpoints.

The plan is for the procession to move to the city of Zaporizhia and then, depending on the conditions, to the border with Moldova, where there will be a ladder of the Embassy of Bucharest under Ambassador Sofia Grammata to provide them with all possible assistance.

The Consul General in Mariupol Manolis Androulakis will remain at the Consulate General, which will continue to operate.
