The number of agroforestry fires that broke out in the last twenty-four hours across the country reached 52. Of these, according to an announcement by the Fire Department, 42 were dealt with immediately, in their initial stage, while the fire brigade is still dealing with 10.
Regarding the fire in Prodromos Agriniou, according to Civil Protection sources, the fire has been contained to a gully.
In particular, according to Civil Protection sources, the 8 most dangerous fires that broke out today were:
-At 11:02, a fire in a forest area in Havriata, Kefalonia, next to a settlement. The fire has been brought under partial control and 30 firefighters, 1 forest commando team, 8 vehicles, 5 aircraft and 1 helicopter worked on the scene. Contribution was provided by local water bodies. It is noted that at 11:30 a 112 information message was issued.
-At 11:10, a fire in an agroforestry area in Neochori, Messinia. The fire was brought under partial control and 32 firefighters, with a group of pedestrians, 9 vehicles, 4 aircraft and 1 helicopter attempted to extinguish it.
-At 11:22, a fire in a forest area in Melia Evros. The fire was controlled in half an hour and 14 firefighters, 7 vehicles and 3 aircraft were dispatched to the scene.
-At 11:26, fire in low vegetation in Pefkodasos Kilkis. The fire was brought under control in 40 minutes and 30 firefighters, 1 group of foresters, 10 vehicles and 1 helicopter tried to extinguish it. Support was provided by project machinery.
-At 15:18, a fire in an agroforestry area in the village of Prodromos Agriniou. According to Civil Protection sources, the fire has been limited to a ravine and there is no danger to the settlement. 32 firefighters, 1 forestry team, 10 vehicles, 3 aircraft and 1 helicopter are operating at the scene. They support water bodies OTAs. It is noted that two messages via 112 were sent to the residents of the area. The first message called on the residents to remain on alert while the second message was to evacuate from Prodromos to Gouriotissa.

-At 15:31, a fire in low vegetation in the area of ​​Portes Nea Propontida, Halkidiki. The fire was brought under control in 30 minutes. 15 firefighters, 6 vehicles and 1 helicopter responded to the scene.
-At 16:17, fire in a forest area in Mandrotopos, in Paranesti, Drama. The fire is in an inaccessible and difficult place and does not threaten any settlement. 60 firefighters, 2 groups of pedestrian units, 20 vehicles and 4 helicopters are working to extinguish it. They support local water bodies and project machinery.
It is noted that the local investigative offices, as well as Units of the Arson Crimes Directorate (D.A.E.E.) are investigating the causes of the fires.
