The municipality of Athens issued an announcement, with which it speaks of an “incomprehensible decision” of the D.YP.A. about the long-term unemployed recruitment program and for “unacceptable taunting”.
“Unacceptable mockery of the Municipality of Athens with the hiring program for the long-term unemployed”, he says first and then analyzes:
“The incomprehensible decision of the Public Employment Service (PSE) not to proceed with the recruitment program for long-term unemployed aged 55-67, deprives 72 beneficiaries of the opportunity to work in the services of the Municipality of Athens and at the same time the support of the Municipality with necessary workforce in its critical services.
While on May 29, 2024 the hiring of 72 people for the Municipality of Athens was approved by 3 decisions of the Ministry of the Interior, and then the Municipality committed the relevant appropriations in its budget, on August 8 the Ministry of the Interior without any prior notice, informed that the program will not proceed».
The municipality concludes as follows: “We request the immediate change of this incomprehensible decision of the D.YPA.A. in order to support our long-term unemployed fellow citizens and to meet the needs of our Municipality».
