A new fire front appeared in Laconia, specifically in a forest area in the area Vahosof the Municipality of Eastern Mani.

At the scene, they are operating with 35 firefighters with a group of pedestrians from the 9th E.MO.DE. and 11 vehicles, while a helicopter makes water drops.

The work of the fire brigades is assisted by water carriers of the municipality.

In the meantime, the fire that broke out earlier in the morning in a forest area, in Kalivia Socha area, of the Municipality of Sparta, where strong firefighting forces are constantly working to bring the fire under control. 31 firefighters with 2 groups of hikers from the 9th E.MO.DE, 6 vehicles, 4 aircraft and 1 helicopter are operating at the scene. They also support water carriers and OTA project machinery.

Also, the fire was contained to Trikorfo of Etoloakarnania.

Finally, for the sixth day, the battle of ground and aerial firefighting means continues with the fire that is burning in a difficult place on Mount Pangaeo, in Kavala.

280 firefighters with 46 firefighting vehicles and 25 pedestrian units are working on the fire front, while 5 helicopters and a firefighting aircraft carry out air drops. Residents and volunteers also help in the extinguishing work.

The fire does not threaten residential areas, however as a precaution, fire zones are being created around the settlements of Pangaios.

The fire broke out last Thursday, having burned thousands of acres of forested land with low vegetation.
