He is sent to prison by court order a 35 year old who was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for domestic threat at the expense of his estranged wife, in Thessaloniki.
The Autoforo Single Member Criminal Court of Thessaloniki decided not to suspend his sentence nor grant suspensory effect to its execution pending appeal.
As it became known during the trial of the case, the 35-year-old just recently he had been convicted by another court for a similar incident and had served one month in prison out of a total of 24 that had been imposed on him.
According to the case file, the accused allegedly entered the house of his estranged wife, violating a related restraining order, and when he saw her, he started threatening her life. “I told him to leave and then he started threatening to kill me and burn me,” the victim testified in court.
He himself in his apology asked for forgiveness and a second chance, but the court was not convinced. “How many times do you have to go to jail to figure that out?” said the judge addressing the defendant.
