Their keyboardist CureRoger O’Donnell admitted he was diagnosed with “a very rare and aggressive form of lymphoma” in September 2023.

The musician shared his experience in a series of posts on X to mark Blood Cancer Awareness Month in the UK, urging his fans to prioritize their health and get screened early.

“I had ignored the symptoms for a few months, but I finally went, and after the surgery, the biopsy result was devastating,” the artist wrote.

However, after almost a year of treatment, as he stated, his health is “fine and the prognosis is amazing”. “The crazy ax murderer knocked on the door and we didn’t answer,” joked Roger O’Donnell before urging those with symptoms to seek treatment as soon as possible.

“Cancer can be beaten, but if you’re diagnosed early enough you have a much better chance, so all I have to say is go and get tested if you even think you might have symptoms. Finally, if you know someone who is sick or suffering, talk to them, every word helps, believe me, I know.”

The legendary Cure have wrapped up their ‘Shows of a Lost World’ tour in September 2023, according to Billboard.

Roger O’Donnell who joined the band in 1987 left twice, in 1990 and 2005, before returning in 2011.
