A 64-year-old Pakistani man who videotaped an 18-year-old woman inside the train running the Athens-Thessaloniki route was referred to the Autonomous Single-Member Misdemeanor Court. The incident was noticed by other women and the man was arrested upon arrival at the Railway Station by police officers.
The public prosecutor brought criminal proceedings against him for violations of the law on personal data and then referred him to court.
In her testimony, the 18-year-old stated that she boarded the train bound for Thessaloniki with her other friends.
She pointed out that on the way she was approached by an unknown girl who showed her a man sitting diagonally across from her and told her that he was filming her with his mobile phone. Another woman noticed his act. “He told me that in the video I was seen from the waist up and he was zooming in on my chest,” the 18-year-old said, adding that: When this man realized, as the complainant stared at him, he started making hasty movements on his cell phone.
