The Katerini Tobacco Station offers safe accommodation for another 30 women and children from Ukraine after consultation with the Consulate of Ukraine in Thessaloniki.
According to a relevant announcement, the Smoking Station of Katerini offers to temporarily accommodate in one of its heated rooms up to 30 women and children from the war front (15 bunk beds). At the same time, a team of about 35 volunteers checked and grouped medical supplies for a second humanitarian mission to Ukraine. The first shipment of drugs (2 pallets) took place on March 2.
The team, in collaboration with the Freundeskreis Elliniko eV association from Hamburg, Germany, has provided the necessary equipment and is fully ready the facilities of the Smoking Station to welcome families from Mariupol, Ukraine, offering them a decent and safe place.
Also, the management of the private schools “Platon” offered to take over the employment of children in its facilities, as well as their daily transfer from the Smoking Station, while it will take the initiative to meet the nutritional and clothing needs of children.
