The Egnatia Highway is closed in the section from Veria to Polymylos Kozani, after a collision of many cars.
According to the first information, transmitted by ERT, five cars were initially involved in the collision, and then many more fell into them, due to the dense fog that prevails in the area.
More than 50 cars seem to have been involved in the collision, while according to the same information, there are trapped passengers who have been slightly injured. According to kozan.gr, 13 are injured, mainly with bruises.
At the moment, all the drivers and passengers on the spot are being recorded, including several from other countries, so that they can be transported by bus to either Kozani or Thessaloniki.
Fire trucks from the Kozani Fire Department rushed to the scene to free the passengers.
The Imathia Police Department diverts the traffic of cars moving to Western Macedonia, Ioannina and Igoumenitsa, from Veria to Edessa, Ptolemaida and the vertical axis of the Egnatia Road to Kozani.
