A young deer found shelter in the backyard of a house in Naoussa.
The beautiful animal seems to have been separated from its companion and was accidentally found – perhaps chased by dogs – in a residential area, specifically on the western side of the city of Naoussa.
Despite his misfortune, he was lucky as he was spotted by a municipal employee who opened the gate and within a short time the frightened deer was found perched in the backyard of the house.
The members of the animal charity of Naoussa, a veterinarian who was called and the responsible deputy mayor Grigoris Samaras who were notified were the ones who took care of it and led it back to nature and its environment.
Katerina Miga, a member of the animal welfare group of Naoussa and a member of the municipality’s five-member committee on stray animals, speaking to APE – MEB about the sudden appearance of the little deer, described it as … an unexpected visit to the city of Naoussa.
However, the city’s animal-friendly and self-governing reflexes were quickly proven as the mobilization of both the animal-friendly members and the responsible vice-mayor for the release of the little deer was immediate. The beautiful animal was not injured but definitely scared. A veterinarian gave him an injection of adrenaline and as the deputy mayor of Naoussa, Grigoris Samaras, told APE-MPE:took him in his arms, as he hugs his daughters, and led him back into the forest to be reunited with his family».
