Three brothers jailed for up to 47.5 years for chain-grabbing pedestrians with tattoos
Prison sentences of up to 47.5 years were imposed by the Court of Thessaloniki on three brothers who robbed young pedestrians, whom they often approached under the pretext of wanting to check whether they had tattoos on their necks.
Exercising physical violence, the accused (aged 21 to 24), as described in the case file, grabbed chains, money and other valuables.
The indictment refers to more than ten robberies and thefts, which they committed acting with various compositions and with the participation of two more of their accomplices.
In one case – in fact – it seems that they insulted the sexual orientation of a victim and for this reason they were also found guilty of sexual indecency.
The Single-Member Court of Criminal Appeal found them guilty of all the acts, sentencing them, respectively, to total prison terms of 47.5, 39 and 28.5 years (with 20 suspended), while also imposing fines, with a higher 82,000 euros to the person convicted with the longest sentence.
The court was attended by two of the accused brothers who confessed their actions and after the Court’s verdict they returned to prison. The third party was represented by an attorney.
