The two men accused of the murder of the 41-year-old pregnant woman, whose body was found last January, inside a trunk, in a forest area near Monopigado, on the borders of the prefectures of Thessaloniki and Halkidiki, are referred to the audience of the Joint Jury Court of Edessa to be tried. .

It is about the 39-year-old partner of the pregnant woman and his 34-year-old friend, who, according to the will of the Criminal Court of Thessaloniki, are referred to trial for manslaughter, termination of pregnancy and robbery (jointly and in the degree of a felony), as well as for illegal carrying of weapons and use of a weapon, just like the criminal prosecution that was initially brought against them, when they apologized to the 4th regular investigator of Thessaloniki and were deemed remand.

According to the forensic findings, the unfortunate woman, who was 7 weeks pregnant, suffered three fatal stab wounds to the cervical area and neck. The murder was committed on New Year’s Day in the apartment of the 39-year-old in Kalamaria, and the motive of the perpetrators seems to have been robbery.

As described in the will, the defendants placed the lifeless body of the woman in a trunk-type suitcase and transported it to the place where it was found a week later, following the suggestion of the 34-year-old who addressed EL.AS. confessed his involvement in the case.

Security cameras recorded the two defendants carrying the trunk and after the crime throwing various items into trash cans, including a mattress, on which traces of the 41-year-old woman’s blood were found.

It was preceded by the attempt of her 39-year-old partner to disorient the investigations of the prosecuting authorities by sending various messages with the alleged sender being the woman.

Apologizing to the investigator, the 39-year-old denied all the acts attributed to him, pointing to his friend as the perpetrator.

“I’m not going to confess to a crime I didn’t commit” he reportedly said, among other things. He also stated that on the disputed New Year’s Eve he had taken pills and slept.

In turn, the 34-year-old “showed” his co-accused as the perpetrator of the murder. I accepted to participate in a “fake” a robbery which I did not initiate, I needed the money, but I did not want his partner to suffer, the 34-year-old apologized.
