After an investigation by police officers of the Grevena Security Department, a case of telephone fraud against an 80-year-old woman in the area of ​​Grevena, under the pretext of her daughter’s emergency surgery, was solved.

According to the police, for this case, the details of a 28-year-old foreigner, who collected the sum of 15,500 euros from the elderly woman, were identified, while for the same case, the details of two more of his accomplices, a man and a woman, are being sought to be identified. who had the role of the supposed doctor (the man) and the daughter (the woman).

In particular, on Thursday morning the 80-year-old received a phone call on her home landline and then on her cell phone from an unknown man, who introduced himself to her as a hospital doctor, and after claiming that her daughter had suffered a serious injury and needed immediate surgery, demanded the payment of a sum of money allegedly for the surgery, while at the same time an unknown woman pretended to be her 80-year-old daughter.

The 80-year-old woman was convinced and at the suggestion of the supposed doctor, she handed over the sum of 15,500 euros to the 28-year-old foreigner, who had the role of collector, outside her home in the Grevena area.

The Grevena Security Department continues its investigations into the identification of the two unknown persons-accomplices, while their participation in other similar criminal acts is being examined.

The case filed against them will be submitted to the prosecutor of Misdemeanors.
