“The glorious line of the leader of the resistance, Hassan Nasrallah, will continue and his holy purpose will be realized with the liberation of Kotz
Iran said today that “the line of Hassan Nasrallah will continue”, despite the death of the leader of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement in an Israeli strike on his headquarters in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
“The glorious line of the leader of the resistance, Hassan Nasrallah, will continue and his holy purpose will be realized with the liberation of Kodh (Jerusalem),” said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani, in a message posted on the X platform.
At the same time, Hezbollah pledged in a statement that it would “continue its struggle to confront the enemy” after confirming the death of its leader Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut, as reported by CNN.
The group described Nasrallah as a “holy martyr” who had led the group since 1992, saying he was killed in a “treacherous Zionist airstrike in the southern suburbs” of the Lebanese capital.
Israel said on Saturday morning that it had killed Nasrallah in an airstrike in southern Beirut on Friday.
“Hezbollah’s leadership pledges to the most supreme, sacred and dearest martyr in our journey, full of sacrifices and martyrs, that it will continue its struggle to face the enemy, to support Gaza and Palestine and to defend Lebanon and its steadfast and honest people,” the announcement reads.
“The Honorable Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah, has joined his great and eternal martyr companions, whom he led for nearly thirty years, guiding them from victory to victory,” he continued.
The Hezbollah-owned Al-Manar TV channel switched to Koran recitations, an Islamic gesture of mourning.
Hamas also issued a statement mourning Nasrallah.
