Toyota again in 1st place in sales

by

2021 was undoubtedly another year full of challenges and unprecedented situations for the global community, especially in matters of health and safety and, of course, in an ongoing struggle to deal effectively with the pandemic. This whole situation could not leave the global car industry unscathed, as, among other things, serious problems arose in the supply chain, resulting in delays in the delivery of new cars to consumers.

In this environment, Toyota managed to be again in the 1st position of sales in the world, while in our country the brand won for the 9th consecutive year the 1st position in the preference of the Greek consumer, with a total classifications of 14,559 vehicles.

More specifically, in terms of the Greek car market and despite the issues that arose due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the market moved at a rapid pace of growth, recording an increase of 27% reaching 112,000 units compared to 87,840 last year.

Toyota topped the passenger list with 13,164 registrations, which corresponds to 13.0% of the market, while in the commercial it recorded 1,395 registrations, which corresponds to 13.4% of the market.
The President & CEO of Toyota Hellas Mr. Aristidis Aravanis, based on the results of another successful year, said: Our company, setting as an absolute priority the safety of its customers, employees and partners, responded adequately in the challenges and the year 2021. The performance of TOYOTA, perfectly in line with our priorities, placed the brand for another year at the top of the Greek market with the highest share of all, of the order of 13.1% (+0.3 p. m. compared to 2020).

Specifically, the Toyota models that were found in the top positions of their category, were:

Aygo with 2,473 rankings, corresponding to a share of 22.0% in category A (1st place in sales)
The Yaris with 4,747 rankings, corresponding to a share of 17.8% in category B (1st place in sales)
The Corolla with 2,118 classifications, deservedly winning the 1st place in category C
The C-HR, with 2,934 classifications, deservedly winning the 1st place in the C_SUV category
The RAV4, with 444 classifications, deservedly winning 3rd place in the D-SUV category
