Today’s silent gathering of memory in Thessaloniki is part of the global vigil “Never forget the 7th of October”
With a candle and the reading of the names of the victims and hostages, members of the initiative “Course of Life(March of Life) commemorated, early in the morning, at the White Tower, the memory of all those who were murdered in the bloody attack by Hamas against Israel, on October 7, 2023.
At exactly the same time the deadly attack began a year ago, at 6.29am, members of the initiative read the names of the 1,170 people who lost their lives and the 255 who were kidnapped, holding placards that read: “Don’t forget never on the 7th of October.’
According to the organizers, today’s silent gathering of memory in Thessaloniki is part of the global vigil “Never forget October 7th“, in the context of which, at the same time, similar actions were carried out in over 130 cities in 20 countries around the world. Among others, events of this kind took place in Berlin and other German cities, New York (USA), Budapest (Hungary), Geneva (Switzerland), Rome (Italy), Warsaw (Poland) Lima (Peru) ), La Paz (Bolivia), Bujumbura (Burundi) etc.
