With a joint initiative of the Ministries of Education, Religion and Sports and Maritime and Island Policy, discounts of up to 50% are announced
Discounts on ferry and plane tickets will be available to second-phase substitute teachers for the academic year 2024-2025, in order to move to the placement and service area. In particular:
Ferry tickets
With a joint initiative of the Ministries of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports and Maritime and Island Policy, discounts of up to 50% are announced on the ferry tickets for deputy teachers.
- Aegean Sea Lines: 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles in the period 09-10-2024 to 16-10-2024.
- ATTICA GROUP: 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles in the period 09-10-2024 to 17-10-2024.
- Fast Ferries: 30% discount for passengers and 20% for their vehicles from 09-10-2024 to 16-10-2024.
- Golden Star Ferries: 30% discount for passengers and 20% for their vehicles from 09-10-2024 to 16-10-2024.
- Minoan Lines: 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles in the period 09-10-2024 to 16-10-2024.
- Saronic Ferries: 30% discount for passengers until 02-07-2025.
- SeaJets: 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles from 09-10-2024 to 16-10-2024.
- Skyros Shipping Co: 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles from 09-10-2024 to 16-10-2024.
- Zante Ferries: 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles from 09-10-2024 to 16-10-2024.
In the coming days, other companies may be added to the above table, in which case a newer update will be issued.
The discount will cover the movement of teachers from their places of permanent residence to the final island, where they undertake service. Necessary supporting documents for the provision of the discount will be the relevant decision of the Ministry of Education, Religions and Sports, which mentions their recruitment, and their Police ID.
Airline tickets from the express company
The express company, responding to the request of the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports and in order to facilitate the movements of substitute teachers of Primary and Secondary Education, provides a discount of 30% for the issuance of ten (10) air tickets per interested party.
The procedure for receiving this discount is as follows:
- Beneficiaries will receive an SMS with a unique code today and tomorrow.
- On the page https://www.skyexpress.gr/el/newsletter/anaplirotes-ekpaideutikoi-2024 after filling in the necessary information (name, surname, email, phone and the code they received), they will receive in their e-mail the relevant discount code, so that they enter it during the ticket booking/purchase process.
The Minister of Education, Religion and Sports Kyriakos Pierrakakis warmly thanks the Minister of Shipping and Island Policy Christos Stylianidis as well as the ferry companies and the airline express, for their immediate response to the request of the Ministry of the Interior for the provision of the above facilities.
The initiative is part of the ongoing care but also of the essential recognition of the work of our teachers who essentially support the educational process.
