Announcement regarding the sudden death of a 15-month-old infant, on the sidelines of the publications that have preceded both the print and
in the electronic press, published by the General Hospital of Ilias and the Nursing Unit of Amaliadas.

In the announcement signed by the administrator of the Pyrgos Hospital and the administrator of the hospitals of Ilia, it is summarized that the unfortunate infant already arrived dead at the Hospital and despite the intensive efforts of the medical staff it was not possible to bring him back to life.

For example, it is described that on Monday 5/8/2024 at 1:10 p.m. he was transferred to the emergency rooms of N.M. Amaliadas, a 15-month-old infant, with private means.

He was accompanied by a small woman with short hair, who held him in her arms and left him on the examination bed of the clinics while his mother followed behind, crying.

He was apulsive with dilated pupils in both eyes, lethargic, no heart sounds and no photokinetic reflex, with bruised lips.

Airway patency was immediately checked, with no findings, and then Heimlich maneuver and extraction of milk engorgement was performed and CPR was applied, with continuous oxygen administration.

An intracardiac laboratory blood test was obtained and then the doctors proceeded with an intracardiac injection of adrenaline.

In fact, as CPR emphasizes, it continued beyond the time of the protocols without unfortunately showing any sign of vitality on the monitoring monitor which showed a continuous isoelectric line.

“The anesthesiologist, who had already been called, could not intervene because the infant was dead,” the announcement emphasizes, adding that the last electrocardiogram was done at 2:05 p.m. with an isoelectric line.

The medical staff announced the death of the child to the relatives and then the infant was transferred, as planned, to the
University Hospital of Patras, for forensic examination and autopsy.
