The above decision was taken, due to updated weather forecast from the National Weather Service for a chance of rain up to 2mm in the Samaria National Forestas well as the need to achieve the best possible level of safety for visitors, employees and the natural environment of the National.
As emphasized by the National Park’s operating organization, there will be days when the movement of visitors to the Samaria Gorge will need to be urgently prohibited or restricted. The decision to regulate traffic in the park usually taken at noon or in the evening of the previous day. However, due to extremely urgent circumstances, it may even take place on the same day.
