A preliminary investigation into the exact causes of the accident is being carried out by the 2nd TT of Fthiotida Highways.
A traffic accident with a 54-year-old man as a victim occurred on Sunday morning at the Agia Marina flyover in Lamia.
According to lamiareport.gr, the unfortunate man was driving his car on the national road in the direction of Thessaloniki and due to the works at ATHE, he was forced to take the Agia Marina exit. Unfortunately, at the intersection of the exit of ATHE on the flyover that connects the old highway with Agia Marina, it seems he did not notice the STOP sign and tried, without stopping, to cross the road vertically in order to exit onto the old highway.
This is a point that many times has not been noticed by the drivers coming out of the national highway that they do not have priority and we have seen many serious traffic accidents, but unfortunately this time, it turned into an accident.
Panic prevailed at the scene, with police officers from the Motorway Traffic Police calling for help from the EMS and Fire Department. Despite the honorable actions of the Firefighters, the unfortunate man was extricated dead from his vehicle and delivered to the ambulance.
The unfortunate man’s beautiful dog, which was also inside the fatal vehicle, was freed from the wreckage.
Everyone at the scene tried to calm it down, but in addition to its fear of the tumble, it was clearly seen that it was also crying for the man who was taking care of it, who had so unexpectedly passed away.
