The 40-year-old priest, who was arrested after the minor’s complaint that he slapped her, was released by the Single-Member Criminal Court of Thessaloniki on the condition that he not approach his 17-year-old daughter until the case is heard.

The court also decided for the 17-year-old to stay temporarily with her mother.

The priest was arrested and referred to be tried by the ex parte procedure at the Single-Member Criminal Court of Thessaloniki, following a complaint by his 17-year-old daughter that he exercised physical violence against her.

Criminal charges were brought against the 40-year-old priest for simple domestic bodily harm before a minor family member, while the prosecutor requested that copies of the case file be extracted and brought to the attention of the juvenile prosecutor.

As the 17-year-old complained, after a fight, her father slapped her twice, in front of her 15-year-old sister.

According to the same complaint, the incident happened, yesterday afternoon, at their home (in a village in Thessaloniki), where the priest lives with four of his five minor children, who he has with his 35-year-old ex-wife.

According to information, the 40-year-old in turn filed a lawsuit against the 17-year-old, claiming that she threatened him with a knife.
