All types of Air Force fighter and transport aircraft, Civil Aviation aircraft, the historic Harvard aircraft performed impressive maneuvers
Impressive acrobatics, unique sounds, closed maneuvers and abundant colors in the sky of Thessaloniki impressed and excited tens of thousands of citizens who saw for the first time the nymph of Thermaikos being the focus of all the events planned by the leadership and staff of the General Aviation Staff. A historic event that took place in the city of Thessaloniki.
From 12:00 and for an hour and twenty minutes, the city center, the beach front, but also every balcony overlooking the sea was flooded with citizens of all ages. A few minutes, in fact, after the arrival of noon, there was no part of the beach that was not filled with groups, families, aviation enthusiasts and visitors who were impressed by the aerial spectacle, applauded the fliers and did not leave before they had all completed their passes Air Force fighter and transport aircraft types, Civil Aviation aircraft, the historic Harvard aircraft, as well as the hosted “Egyptian Silver Stars” swarm aerobatics.
The PA’s training duo, the Aermacchi M-346 high-speed jet trainer flying the T-6A Daedalus, opened the air show and then the beach was transformed into a vibrant canvas of Air Force fighter jets passing by of Civil Aviation, the Egyptian Silver Stars with 10 versatile K-8E Karakorum jet trainer aircraft, the impressive formations with all types of PA fighters, the realistic, dynamic dogfight between Dassault Rafale F3R and F-16 aircraft, the flight of all PA fighters as well as the ASEPE Erieye EMB-145 AEW&C aircraft, the duos releasing flares in their closed manoeuvres. Also, the legendary Harvard, which not only performed its first pass over the Greek audience after 60 years, reconstructed and proud, but also gave a lasting spectacle to the audience.
A variety of aircraft then arrived and performed mock strikes, while the Air Demonstration Team’s F-16 ‘Zeus’ Solo Aircraft appeared over the urban fabric. The air show was closed with an impressive display by the Canadair firefighting aircraft that also demonstrated a low-altitude water drop, the passage of the C-130 and C-27 transport aircraft with their anniversary decorations and the formation passage of all the PA fighters of the country , passages that were accompanied by applause and thousands of photos and videos.
