A 55-year-old firefighter breathed his last on Sunday at noon while extinguishing a fire in a forest area, in the Karteres area of the Lagada municipality of Thessaloniki.
According to the Fire Department, the 55-year-old five-year-old firefighter felt unwell and was taken to 424 GSNE Thessaloniki, where he was pronounced dead.
