Two citizens, a 26-year-old and a 24-year-old, were arrested in the morning hours of Monday (11/11) in the area of ​​Halandrio, by police officers of the Northeast Attica Crime Investigation and Prosecution Sub-Directorate, for attempted vehicle theft and violation of the arms law while their accomplices are being sought.

In particular, police officers of the Immediate Action found the 2 accused, together with accomplices, in the early hours of Monday (11/11) looking into a parked vehicle in the area of ​​Chalandrio with the aim of removing it.

At the sight of the police officers, the perpetrators ran away, abandoning the vehicle in which they had gone to the scene.

Police officers of the Sub-Directorate for Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes of Northeast Attica, put the perpetrators’ vehicle under discreet surveillance where a few hours later, in the morning hours of Monday (11/11), the 24-year-old accused came to pick it up.

The police immediately stopped her and took her to the Chalandrio Security Department, which was ordered to be investigated, while the 26-year-old defendant was also arrested.

What did the investigations find?

In a check on the houses and also on the vehicle of the perpetrators, among others, the following were found and confiscated:

  • pistol,
  • -209- unfired cartridges,
  • -5- devices which are connected to the vehicle brain,
  • burglary tools,
  • motorcycle brain,
  • -5- geolocating devices (GPS),
  • vehicle keys,
  • iron fist and
  • clothing used in the commission of the attempted theft.

The arrested were taken to the competent Prosecutor.
