Police officers from the MAT, Action Team, Dias Team, DRASI, OPKE, Security and Traffic will be in the city center
From 9:00 am and until 1:00 p.m. the historic complex of the National Technical University of Athens on Patision will be open today, in order to carry out the established march to the US embassy, ​​as part of the events for the 51st anniversary of the student uprising at the Polytechnic. The police presence around the Polytechnic and other university institutions, the US embassy, ​​public buildings, as well as in the wider area of ​​Exarchia will be strong.
At the same time, due to the ongoing hostilities in the Middle East, ELAS will implement special security measures around the Israeli embassy and also in other buildings and businesses of Israeli interest.
Also, due to the incident with the explosion in the apartment in Ampelokipis and the continuous demonstrations of support in favor of those arrested for the case, which have been carried out in the last few days by people who move in the anti-authoritarian area, all police stations will be put on heightened security due to the fear cruiser attacks.
According to information from police sources, on Sunday, for the implementation of the measures, more than 5,000 policemen will be on foot from the MAT, the DIAS Group, DRASAI, OPKE, Security, Traffic, while there will also be assistance from officers of the Anti-Terrorist Service and the EYP.
At the same time, the ELAS helicopter and a drone will fly from early on, which will give an image of the GADA Operations Center, while the special armored water-throwing vehicles, the well-known “Aiantes”, will also be on hand. Furthermore, pre-checks will be carried out continuously around the Polytechnic building and in general in the area, while armed policemen will also be present on the roofs of neighboring buildings.
Also, the Traffic will intervene in the traffic of vehicles gradually and according to the conditions, especially today, Sunday, November 17, when the events are at their peak.

Gradually and depending on the traffic conditions, stopping and parking are prohibited and vehicle traffic will be stopped:
– On Kifisias Avenue, in its section between Alexandras and Katehaki Avenues and in both (2) traffic streams, as well as on its perpendiculars up to the first parallel street.
-In Panormou, in the section between Kifisias Avenue and Larisis Street and in both (2) traffic streams, as well as in the perpendiculars thereof up to the first parallel street.
Furthermore, according to the decision of “Road Transport SA”, modifications will be made to the itineraries and stops of the means of transport (Buses – Trolley).
Measures to facilitate traffic in the wider area of ​​the center of Athens have been planned and will be taken by the Attica Traffic Directorate.
Finally, the Traffic Authority appeals to drivers to avoid driving and parking their vehicles in the areas of the events, the route of the march and around the US Embassy, ​​as well as in the wider area of ​​the center, both for the service them, as well as to prevent additional traffic problems.
