What does it take for a car to win the ‘Car of the Year’ title?

According to the organization itself, “technological innovation and value for money are particularly important factors” in winning the title of Car of the Year.

The new Dacia Duster clearly meets these requirements.

Technological Innovation

Based on the CMF-B platform, the new Duster is equipped with electrified powertrains, such as the 140 hp full Hybrid. The performance and economy offered by this engine make it possible to drive as purely electric, up to 80% of the time driving in the city, which reduces fuel consumption by up to 40%, in urban cycle conditions.

The adoption of innovations in the new Duster also includes systems that reduce the carbon footprint, thanks to the extensive use of recycled materials. For example, Starkle®, an innovative fully recyclable plastic made from 20% recycled materials, is part of the vehicle’s exterior design.

Another one of the innovations adopted by the new Duster is Dacia’s YouClip support system, which offers the possibility of personalizing the interior with various accessories, such as the smartphone holder and the smart 3 in 1 cup holder.

Value for money

Since its first launch in 2010, the Dacia Duster has attracted more than 2.5 million customers worldwide. As of 2018, it is one of the best-selling B-SUVs in Europe, thanks to its excellent features and excellent value for money.

The third generation Duster, which retails for under €20,000, continues this tradition.

The Car of the Year title will be awarded at the Brussels Motor Show on Friday 10 January 2025.
