The authorities are on the trail of an online fraud ring “baiting” Prince Paul and the former royal family, after a 74-year-old man complained to the Security Department of Peania. The old man initially stepped on her, but after “Prince Paul” asked him for money again, he suspected something was wrong and reported the incident to the authorities.

In particular, the 74-year-old reported to the authorities that he initially received a friend request on Facebook from a profile that presented itself as “Pavlos Glyxburgx”. After a few minutes, according to ERT, the Facebook account sent a message to the 74-year-old, where he convinced him that he was indeed communicating with the scion of the former royal family.

Then, “Paul” told him that if he joins the existing club, he will get one privileged membership card and she would have the support of the former royal family in whatever it takes, even one permanent pension amounting to 420 euros per month.

When did he realize the scam?

The 74-year-old accepted and posted on his Facebook account that he was asked: a photocopy of his ID, an account confirming the address of the house, photos of his family and prepaid card 15 eurosfor a start, in order to obtain the membership card of the former royal family.

The scammers then sent him a photocopy of the membership card and told him that in order to receive it in full, he would have to send and more money.

In fact, they gave the 74-year-old the phone number of a lady who introduced herself as a secretary and directed the elderly man where to send the money.

Then the old man realized that it was a scam and contacted the authorities.
