The Municipality of Markopoulos of Mesogaia is connected to urban transport, as announced yesterday, Tuesday, in an event organized by the Municipality, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, responsible for Transport, Vassilis Oikonomou, accompanied by the Managing Director of OASA, Georgios Spiliopoulos.
The connection of Markopoulos Mesogaia and Porto Raftis, through urban transport, is an important development for the local community, as it facilitates the daily movement of citizens and enhances accessibility in the area. Its launch is part of the broader framework of the restructuring of the Transport Map of Attica, based on the needs of the citizens and the quality upgrade of their daily life.
The Deputy Minister of Transport, Vassilis Oikonomou, said “At a crowded event in Markopoulos, organized by the Municipality of Markopoulos Mesogaia, the connection of Markopoulos Mesogaia and Porto Raftis with urban transport was officially announced, under the supervision of OASA. The New Transport Map of Attica aims to provide urban transport throughout Attica, eliminating discrimination and inequalities between citizens. With determination we continue to work for sustainable and reliable transport for all. The New Transport Map will be presented through an open dialogue and cooperation with the local government and civil society!”
For his part, the managing director of OASA, Giorgos Spiliopoulos pointed out “The establishment of the new bus line “St. Koropi – Markopoulo”, which will operate under the supervision of OASA, is part of the coverage of the expanded needs of Attica. Our goal is to formulate a common vision for the development of urban transport in Attica, with an emphasis on the interoperability of the means and the more efficient operation of the urban transport system. At this time, the preparation of the Strategic Transport Plan of Attica is underway, which will contribute to the creation of a new transport system, focused on public transport for the next 20 years”.
