Criminal prosecutions recited the District Attorney of Ilia against persons alleged to belong to circuit which was extorting the Deputy Governor of Ilias Nikos Korovesisin order to extort sums of money from him.

According to information from the “Country» and his patrisnewsas far as judicial developments are concerned, the criminal prosecution brought last Saturday afternoon concerns the creation of a gang and the crime of extortion in the degree of a felony.

The public prosecutor handling the case, which is unprecedented for the area, attributed the role of the natural perpetrator to the freelancer, who is accused of extortion by profession, who was given a deadline in order to apologize for the accusation against him, while the lawyer, who was arrested together with the first and alleged blackmailer last Friday in Amaliada, but has been released, is accused of direct collaboration in extortion.

According to the same information, another person is accused of the crime of professional extortion (also a felony), who was not immediately arrested and is expected to appear before Investigator Ilias in order to plead guilty, which will happen next time period through a summons for an apology or if the legal conditions are met, an arrest warrant will be issued against him.

In the framework of the investigations, which are in full progress, as it is a case with many ramifications, there are also other persons who are involved in the case as members of the gang and who allegedly participated in the ring that extorted Mr. Fraud, in order to obtain large sums of money.

As he describes, each time he was extorted by another person asking him for exorbitant amounts. The whole story that started from May 2023, had changed him as a person – as he himself says. “A redemption… that’s what I feel. They took advantage of me being a public figure. I was terrified and making the wrong decisions. I had to go to the Greek Police from the beginning. I was constantly bothered. It was two extortions and now a third attempt. Where I last surrendered to the police authorities with the help of my legal advisors. We pointed out the notes and soon after the police tried and caught them with the notes in hand. We are talking about amounts of 16,000, 3,000 and 13,000 euros. Each time he might change his face, which was the one who would blackmail me. I couldn’t sleep. I used to get up without a smile and finally it had changed me as a person. And I said either I will change or justice will have to be served”, noted Deputy Governor Ilias.
