The Ministry of Education directive sent to the country’s municipalities calls for the immediate closure of playgrounds until their certification by a new body is completed
Playgrounds are “locked” in all municipalities of the country following a relevant directive from the Minister of the Interior.
The directive sent to the OTAs of all Greece, requests the “immediate withdrawal of all audit reports/certificates” of the Audit Body “TARGET HELLAS MONOPROSOPI IKE”, as the accreditation that allowed it to grant certification marks was revoked by the National Accreditation System (ESYD).
This is stated in an announcement by the Municipality of Chalandrio and as it turns out it affects the operation of several playgrounds throughout the country.
The Municipality of Chalandri points out that “the municipalities of the country that had received certification marks from the organization “TARGET HELLAS MONOPROSOPI IKE” proceed to close the playgrounds until their certification by a new organization is completed. The re-certification was deemed mandatory by the ministry even where certification marks were in force, as happened in the case of the Municipality of Chalandrio.
The Municipality asks for the citizens’ understanding for this disturbance, which will be temporary, until the process of the new certification is completed, so that our children can once again enjoy playing in the city’s playgrounds.”
