A big ring was uncovered by the “Corrupt” – Those involved were asking for between 250 and 20,000 euros as a fee for approval of illegal constructions
To the public prosecutor Polygyros the 21 arrested for participating in the ring of urban planning services employees are being brought Halkidiki who are accused of approving, with compensation, illegal actions and constructions.
The case was revealed after a months-long investigation by the Internal Affairs Service of the Hellenic Armed Forces, which it peaked in the previous 24 hours, when the “Incorruptible” policemen proceeded with the arrests.
At the heart of the business were the urban planning of the Municipalities of Sithonia and N. Propontidas Halkidiki, while, according to information the amount of 1 million was confiscated euro, in cash. Hence, above 600,000 euros were found on the accused employees.
Among those arrested are six employees of the two specific urban planning (among them their managers), two relatives of the employees, a former mayor (in the capacity of an engineer) and 12 private individuals – engineers.
The members of the urban planners ring are said to they were asking from 250 to 20,000 euros as a fee to expedite or approve illegal actions and structures, as established by the investigation of the police authorities. Their action is said to be spread over many years.
