Last month’s slight increase in new car sales (+2.1%) brought smiles to the market which sees the year finally ending with a new annual sales record. At the same time, the Greek men and women clearly seem to have turned their backs in hybrid cars leaving the petrol and diesel models behind for another month.

Hybrid cars managed to lead the sales for another month, as they managed to increase their market share by 12.2%. Now in November they occupied the first place with a market share of 44.3%. This practically means that almost one in two cars have hybrid technology. Gasoline vehicles took the next place, recording a sales percentage of 29.4%, down 9.2% compared to the corresponding month last year. Purely electric and plug-in hybrid models took third place with 17.2% versus 13.8%, marking an increase of 3.4%. Big fall which in no way resemble the sales a few years ago they noted diesel vehicles. They accounted for 3.6% of all sales, with a total drop of 8.8% compared to the corresponding month last year. Dual-fuel models performed well in the sales verse last month, registering a 2.6% increase and accounting for 5.5% of all purchases.

On the other hand, category B was the favorite category of the public, as it was chosen by the vast majority (51.2%) of which 30.5% related to SUV models. In second place was the C category with a percentage of 34.1%, of which 24.2% are SUV models and the remaining 9.9% are hatchbacks and sedans. The third step of the podium was occupied by category A with a percentage of 5.3% of which 2% concerns SUV models and the remaining 3.3% hatchbacks. Then comes the D category with 7.9% (6.2% SUVs), the E category with 0.8% (0.7 SUVs), the FG category with 0.3% (0.2% SUVs SUV), the Sports category with 0.1% and the MPV-Combi categories with 0.4%. In all categories, SUVs in November occupied 70.3%, recording a drop of 11.9% compared to the corresponding month of 2023. At the 11-month level, the percentage of SUVs recorded an increase of 3.4%, reaching 59.3% against 55.9%.
