The appellate trial of the first-instance murderer of 24-year-old Eratos, sentenced to life imprisonment, was postponed for next December, at her home in Mytilene. The trial was postponed due to the obstruction of the newly hired defense lawyer.
There were incidents late in the afternoon when Erato’s killer was escorted out of court by a police force to be transferred to prison.
The family of the murdered, along with a large number of supporters from women’s organizations and other collectives that have been out of court since the morning, tried to attack him. The incidents continued after the transfer of the killer between the solidarity groups and a group of MAT police officers who tried to disperse them.
Erato, 24, was murdered in May 2019 at her home by her estranged husband. Their two-year-old child was sleeping in the next room of the house where the woman was murdered.
At first instance, he was found guilty of premeditated homicide in a calm mental state with life imprisonment and for illegal carrying and illegal use of firearms and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
