He is on a reforming path EOPYY and at the forefront is its digital transition and the complete electronic interconnection of all applications, whether it concerns the Organization’s relationship with providers, or concerns the insured and the possibility of having full access to the health insurance file in real data.

The management of the Organization gives emphasis on real-time control of resource usage and in this direction undertakes actions.

As stated during a press conference by the director of the EOPYY, Theano Karpodinithe Organization for two years has started to carry out real-time control in important categories of medical technology material. It has implemented the unique verification code, in the categories in which the highest delinquency is recorded, so that it can certifies that the service was provided to the patient.

Ms. Carpodine announced that by the end of January, the application for the interface with the National Telecommunications Registry will be completed, so that for each AMKA to have a unique certified telephone contact number. That is, when issuing the prescription, the patient must give his consent, which means “that I am at the doctor and this test is actually being prescribed for me”but also during execution.

“This is one of the biggest reforms we are working on together with the Ministry of Digital Governance and the Ministry of Health”noted Ms. Carpodine.

He explained that now it will be possible with a simple “objection” click, for patients to make their complaints, either for drugs that have been prescribed and executed in their name and they have not received them, or for illegal charges, or for behaviors that are not are permissible.

“We attach great importance to this and try to make it as simple and easy as possible for our citizens”he emphasized.

Home delivery of medicines

For a year now, EOPYY has started the pilot program of home delivery of medicines for 2,000 patients on a monthly basis for specific conditions. This measure will be extended to all patients receiving high-cost drugs. As announced by Ms. Carpodine, at the end of March the process will be completedso that approx 120,000 patients to be able, if they wish, to take the high-cost medicines at home. The cost of the action is calculated at 10 cm euro for 2 years.
