A 60-year-old truck driver was injured on Friday morning, at pier 5 of the port of Thessaloniki.

According to the statement of the Coast Guard, the 60-year-old man was injured while loading iron products onto the barge using a forklift.

The injured was transported by EKAV ambulance to the “G. Gennimatas – Agios Dimitrios”, where he is hospitalized.

The preliminary investigation into the causes of the accident is being conducted by the Central Port Authority of Thessaloniki.

In the morning hours yesterday, the Port Authority of Thessaloniki was informed about the injury of a 60-year-old local worker as a truck driver (F/C) with a passenger, at pier 5 of the port of Thessaloniki. Specifically, during the loading of iron products on the platform using a forklift (clark), the 60-year-old man was injured in his left leg.

The injured person was transported by EKAV ambulance to the General Hospital of Thessaloniki “G. Gennimatas-Agios Dimitrios”, where he remains hospitalized.

A preliminary investigation is carried out by the Central Port Authority of Thessaloniki.
