Owner of Paris 6 opens La Cave du Roy, a French-inspired wine bar in SP

by

Businessman Isaac Azar, creator of Paris 6, has a new project. This month he opened La Cave du Roy, inspired by French wine bars.

In Jardins, the wine bar features around 150 labels from different countries, such as Uruguay, Chile, South Africa, New Zealand, Spain, Germany and Portugal. Fifteen options are served in 50 ml, 100 ml or 150 ml glasses — six of them available for self-service.

The menu, designed by Azar himself, lists portions and dishes to pair with. There are orders such as bruschetta with reblochon cheese, blackberry jelly with cumaru and jamón serrano ham (R$ 65; six pieces) and roasted camembert, finished with truffled honey and almonds.

Customers can also assemble their own board, choosing from eight cheese and 11 charcuterie options. Desserts include suggestions such as the 70% cocoa chocolate terrine from Bahia, a touch of woody whiskey and hazelnuts, plus creme anglaise (R$37).

The decoration includes paintings of figures who were part of the history of France, such as Marie Antoinette, Louis 16th and Napoleon Bonaparte.

La Cave du Roy is open every day, without a break, from 12pm to 2am.
