The descriptions of the deputy commander of the Kalambaka Fire Service, Athanasios Gatsias, about the moment of locating the hotel owner in Kalambaka, who died after a fire that broke out early Monday morning, are shocking.

“Someone shouted that there is a citizen from the back who has jumped and he does not seem to be well. I immediately went here with two colleagues, indeed we found a civilian who was lying on the back side” the deputy commander initially reported. He continued: “He was completely unconscious, not communicating – no matter what we told him. The ambulance came at the same time and the ambulance took him.”

According to the deputy commander, the fire appears to have started on the ground floor of the hotel and spread to the second floor, while the rest of the rooms were filled with smoke.

“The fire seems to have started from the ground floor of the hotel, at this moment the Larissa Crime Squad (KAE) has arrived and an expert will be appointed for the causes”, the commander said, while according to information from ThessToday.gr, the investigative of the Fire Service focuses on the air conditioning and heating system.
