40-year-old Eugenia, a victim of domestic violence, who was hospitalized after being severely beaten by her partner, breathed her last.
On October 23 of last year Eugenia was taken to the emergency room of Sismanoglios in Komotini with broken cervical vertebrae and severe injuries. Due to the severity of her injuries, the hospital doctors ordered her transfer to the intensive care unit of the Alexandroupolis General Hospital.
The 40-year-old, according to the Star, ended up yesterday (3/1) evening in a special hospital in Bulgaria where her relatives had taken her some time ago. The girl was fighting for her life all this time.
The girl’s environment reports that she was being abused. As they claimed, her partner started hitting her and threatening her to keep her from talking.
Supposedly to lock her inside the house and wouldn’t let her go out, cutting off all communication with her relatives and friends.
Initially, her partner, regarding the wounds found on her body, argued that Eugenia fell on the road into a hole while they were walking. The doctors did not believe him and notified the authorities.
The 42-year-old man was arrested and after his confession was remanded in prison in Komotini with five felonies including attempted murder with intent in a calm state of mind.
