Kebab Salonu has non-obvious and tasty options, but bread suffers during delivery

The Kebab Salonu restaurant is a Middle Eastern food option that goes beyond the obvious. Even though you may find a certain familiarity when you read the menu, the recipes are different — after all, the house’s specialty is Turkish cuisine.

It’s a shame that chef Rodrigo Libbos’ good research was hampered in the delivery experience by something that seems like a detail, but isn’t: the bread.

The image shows four grilled wraps arranged on a wooden board. The wraps are rolled up and have different fillings visible on the edges, including meat and vegetables. The surface of the wraps has grill marks, indicating that they were cooked on a grill.

He was soft on the yufka, Turkish sheet bread baked on the griddle (R$ 17), which was ordered with the pancarli yogurt, curd mixed with grilled beetroot (R$ 28).

The good falafel sandwich was also not satisfactory, which also includes hummus with pumpkin and fried eggplant slices (R$48). The same happened with the tasty elma tavuk (R$48), a rolled chicken sandwich with a counterpoint of apple, pickles and pomegranate molasses.

Everything is tasty, but the result is equivalent to ordering sushi with undercooked rice. It may be satisfying, but it feels like it’s not long before it’s good or great.
