Nova employees together with their families planted trees and saplings that fit into the local ecosystem, joining forces
Nova, a member of the United Group, the leading telecommunications and media provider in Southeast Europe, faithful to its commitment to the environment and local communities and with a view to supporting sustainability in Greece, following its collaboration with the General Directorate of Forestry and Forestry Environment and the relevant forestry services of Attica, carried out on Saturday, January 18, 2025, a voluntary reforestation activity with the participation of of its employees, in the area of ​​the Holy Monastery of Penteli in Attica.
The Nova employees and their families they planted trees and saplings that are part of the local ecosystem, joining forces for the regeneration of a vital lung of Attica and with a commitment to implementing actions for sustainability and addressing the challenges of climate change.
With this action, the restoration project of the burned forest area of ​​70 hectares was completed, in which Nova, as a contractor, had undertaken the planting and care of 5,400 trees, responding to the urgent environmental needs of Attica, after the disastrous fire of August 2024.
THE Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Theodore Skylakakisemphasized: “We welcome initiatives, such as Nova’s for the voluntary reforestation with the participation of its employees and their families, in the area of ​​the Holy Monastery of Penteli in Attica. And we hope it will find imitators, as it is not just an action of corporate, social responsibility, but an initiative that underlines that every effort made to preserve the country’s ecosystems and biodiversity is valuable. At the Ministry of Environment and Energy, we plan and implement prevention policies, through the utilization of available resources and finding new ones, to protect the environment, as well as policies to deal with the effects of the climate crisis.”

The reforestation of the Penteli Monastery area is part of Nova’s 1 million corporate responsibility program. euros for the restoration of the environment as well as the prevention of natural disasters, by utilizing innovative technological solutions.
