The Olympic weightlifting champion, Pyrros Dimas, was moved while speaking on SKAI’s “Kalimera” show about the falling asleep of the Archbishop of Albania
Emotion has been caused by the falling asleep of the blessed Archbishop of Albania Anastasios, at 8:30 this morning, after several days of hospitalization at the “Evangelismos” hospital.
The Olympic weightlifting champion, Pyrros Dimas, speaking about this to SKAI, could not hide his own emotion. “We were very lucky to have him” he said on the show “Kalimera”, without being able to hold back his tears.
“A great loss for the Hellenism of Northern Epirus and Albania” commented Pyrros Dimas.
“He did a great job, he was next to the helpless, the people in need,” he continued, visibly moved. With a knot around his neck, he said that Blessed Anastasios “was a uniter. He was always by our side, he helped our schools, our hospitals, our people.”
“I remember that after every Olympiad, he sent me a handwritten “congratulations”” said Pyrros Dimas and at that point, he “broke” and took a long pause.
He was our man, so he had us all, he was always by our side. As soon as I opened my eyes, the first thing I heard was, it’s difficult… We were very lucky to have him.
