Nova Love Story releases first images of what the renovated space will look like; Look

Love Story, a nightclub that became famous for bringing together all kinds of people at dawn in downtown São Paulo, will become a kind of cabaret after being renovated. So says businessman Facundo Guerra, one of the new owners of the space, who released the first images of how the place should look.

The new house is expected to reopen in September of this year, but with a decoration that hardly resembles the previous aesthetic and the times when it gathered people with the dawn, with groups looking for an “after” inside after playing in some ballad or night out in São Paulo.

According to Guerra, the public must prepare, because the old Love Story will not return to the way it was. In his opinion, the old model of the club no longer makes sense nowadays, which made it necessary to adapt the space to an “amusement park for adults”.

In the projects and 3D images released, the place takes on the air of a hipster and modern bar. The new proposal is to be a kind of “temple of desire”, says Guerra. In fact, even the name will change — from now on, it will be called Love Cabaret, with spaces that host fetishist performances and striptease and pole dance performances, for example.

But Guerra insists on explaining that the new decoration will be mixed with details of the old one. “It was a very iconic place in São Paulo,” he says. But the changes are obvious.

Firstly, because the famous Love Story track will no longer exist. Now, chairs and tables will be scattered around — and, yes, the idea is for the audience to stay seated. With this, the capacity will be reduced from 600 to 250 people.

In addition, the area where the bar used to be will give way to a kitchen. Meanwhile, the new counter will be set up in front of the space where the old track used to be. On the sides, there will be bleachers. On the upper floor, the old cabins will be renovated.

Love Cabaret will also house two private rooms, which can be rented by anyone who wants to learn or practice BDSM, striptease and shibari, which has an oriental origin and involves an erotic tie.

After filing for bankruptcy in August 2018, with a debt of almost R$1.7 million, Love Story declared bankruptcy in February last year. That’s when Facundo Guerra joined Cairê Aoas, who controls the Fábrica de Bars, and Lily Scott, a businesswoman known in São Paulo’s nightlife and compare the old nightclub.
