A 6-month prison sentence with a three-year suspension and a 1,000 euro fine was imposed by the Court in Serres on Wednesday 22/01/2025, to 45 years of probation piracy pay TV.
According to what was heard in the courtroom, the condemned man had two pirate boxes in his bedroom and living room. The court did not recognize any mitigating factors.
Information indicates that a complaint had been filed about the 45-year-old’s actions and an investigation followed at his residence. The court imposed the sentence on him and he is now required to pay legal and other court costs.
The decision comes a few months after another Greek man from Northern Greece was given a similar “stationary” sentence. In this case, the judges concluded that the consequences of piracy cannot be considered “minor”, given the enormous damage it causes on multiple levels.
After the second conviction, it appears that the users are now also bearing the consequences of the law.
